Replaced the HDD with a smallish 250GB SSD using an HDD adapter and used Acronis to clone made for a significant performance boost. Machines work fine and I wasn't looking for pretty so they meet my needs. Generally the cases are in good shape although one arrived with a goodly dent and some cracks in the front cover. Overall Review: I have more than one of these.

Sure this recording capability is a bit ancient but it works well for me. I have more than one of these machines and found that if Digital Cable Advisor is not run first thing or does not run successfully, getting an "Invalid Application, Unable to Launch" message, it can then be necessary to putz around, using the command window run as administrator to run "%systemroot%\eHome\mcupdate.exe –MediaCenterRecoveryTask" and/or in WMC navigate: Tasks -> General -> Windows Media Center Setup -> Run Setup Again and reboot and eventually the DCA program runs successfully.
#DIGITAL CABLE ADVISOR INVALID APPLICATION UNABLE TO LAUNCH INSTALL#
I was able to find, download and install a copy of digitalcableadvisorsetup_圆4.msi, rebooted the machine and then Digital Cable Advisor ran fine. Had some problems with Digital Cable Advisor setup, the program wasn't included in the install which is confirmed by the absence of "UpdateMachineForDigitalCable" in the C:\Windows\assembly folder. Overall I'm quite happy and got what I expected at a nice price.įree shipping and arrived within a week of ordering.Ĭons: I'm using Win 7 because I wanted Windows Media Center to use for cable TV recording and Win 10 doesn't support this. HDD had about 5 years use on it but showed no SATA SMART errors and once set up I expected to clone to an SSD anyway. Came with a power cord but no keyboard, no mouse as expected. Win7 Pro installed as expected, already mostly up to date with Windows 2018 updates so whatever further updates required went quickly. Pros: PC arrived and configured as described.
